Construction Works At SEHA’s 9 New ’Ambulatory Healthcare Clinics’ On Track
(13 January 2011)

In line with its commitment to provide the highest level of healthcare services for residents, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC (SEHA) has announced that construction works at the new nine Ambulatory Healthcare Clinics in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are on schedule, with completion expected during the 3rd quarter of 2012.

SEHA has also confirmed that construction work is underway at a number of new strategically-located clinics in Al Shamkha, Al Hili, Oud Al Tawbah, Mohammed bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, and Al Yahar, Suwaihan in Al Ain. Moreover, construction works will begin by early 2011 on new Ambulatory Healthcare Clinics at Shahama, Al Zafarana in Abu Dhabi, and Al Haiyir in Al Ain city.

The Chief of Facilities and Construction Division at SEHA, Mr. Saif Al Hameli, said: “The clinics are designed with patients’ complete wellbeing in mind. They feature the latest treatment, comforts and amenities, ensuring Abu Dhabi residents have access to healthcare on par with the best in the world. We are confident that the new Ambulatory Healthcare Clinics in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain will meet the increasing demand for premium healthcare services for both citizens and residents alike.”

“At SEHA, we have witnessed rising demand at our present healthcare facilities. We’ve accordingly planned new facilities, with construction work going according to schedule. Once complete, the new facilities will provide premium healthcare services for more than 100,000 patients in urban areas and more than 40,000 patients in rural areas annually. Each clinic will serve more than 15,000 individuals,” he added.

Each clinic will offer a comprehensive list of service, including dental, family medicine, maternal & child health, emergency care, prevention and screening, radiology, and medical diagnostic imaging.

Ali Al Qemzi, Manager, Facilities and Construction at SEHA said, “These new projects constitute an essential part of the strategic expansion plans adopted by SEHA to develop infrastructure on par with international healthcare standards. Our new clinics will offer comprehensive, high quality health services for all the residents of Abu Dhabi.”

Each of the nine clinics will stretch over 3,650 square meters in two floors, and will house 15 medical checkup and treatment rooms as well as radiology and other essential departments. The clinics will offer landscaped gardens and spacious parking lots for patients and visitors.

Patients will enjoy a full spectrum of general and specialized healthcare services including laboratory tests, diagnostics, routine medical checkups, and constant observation by physicians if needed. Initial diagnosis and treatment for patients will be done in the clinics, which are fully equipped with medical transportation units should patients require further emergency attention at another facility.

“The new ambulatory clinic design offers a high quality of service essential to patients’ peace of mind. We have paid close attention to design details that are environmentally friendly and exceed urban planning criteria,” Al Qemzi concluded.

The new Ambulatory Healthcare Clinics’ locations were chosen by the Facilities and Construction Division at SEHA after taking population density into consideration to cater to the needs of patients in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

SEHA’s latest projects follow a series of international recognitions awarded to the company last year for outstanding policies and practices at the Arab Health Awards 2010. AHS’s Khalifa City A Clinic has also become the first SEHA Ambulatory Healthcare Centre to receive Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation. JCI represents a worldwide consensus on state-of-the-art healthcare practices and quality healthcare delivery trends, focused on improving the safety of patient care through the provision of accreditation and certification services, as well as through advisory and educational services, aimed at helping organizations implement practical and sustainable solutions.
